Map Project: Call of Duty 4:Crash

Is there a map you want that we don't have?

I will work on adding telephone wires then. And some "sneaky" paths I'll let you guys have to discover.

I tested the run to the downed plane to be 20 seconds from original spawns.

I'm thinking about adding hostage rescue too.

What will happen during the mad rush to the smoke...there will be a fire fight thinning the herd. There will be a few red team members and a few green team members defending the pilot as they navigate towards the smoke. Time is also an element; when time starts to dwindle the red team knows the Pilot and what's left of his green team will have to make their move to smoke. Sometimes when there's only one red player left they will take a defensive position around the smoke (camp the smoke) if there are two smokes the red player will have to manage to defend both smokes and not hide guarding one. Sometimes when the pilot is the sole survivor it will help to have a pick of smoke that way you can fake to smoke one but go to smoke two.

Those air gaps between items on the map are cosmetic issues that don't really effect game play but if Joshua wants it perfect, so be it.

Posted to SS forum but figured you may check here first.

Xanatos, this is some amazing work! Would it be alright if I used this map in a mod I've had on the back burner for a while (with some optimization to the map for the purposes of the mod)? Credit given of course.

Twi,

Like I said with Nuke Town, you always have my full permission. All I ever care about is that if someone were to modify a map to rename the files appropriately so there be no mismatches.

I am working on a final version, if you wanted to wait. It's mostly a cosmetic fix with hostage and pilot support. Plus, a surprise following the release as a separate entity.

Thanks! As always, I really appreciate your maps. Excited to see what the "surprise" will be!

Also, while we're on the subject of COD4, I do have a bunch of textures from the game in TGA format, if you or anyone else is interested. They'd be nice for mapping.

Twi,

I cannot view targa. I know rvs uses bitmap. Would like to have access to them though. That'd be awesome. I was taking screenshots and converting them

Unrealed can import Targa just fine though, so they are still useable. Also if you want to preview them, a free program called IrfanView can open basically any image file.

Here's the zipped Cod4 textures:

There are some seriously fantastic textures in there! Give it a look.
